Rob

Rob is a roller skater, dancer, artist, actor, model, entrepreneur, and hope dealer! He’s like that first sunny and warm day of spring—giving us all a hit of serotonin just with his presence, reminding us that better days ARE ahead.

When I kicked off this Queer Joy Project, Rob graced my Instagram with a follow request and y’all the rest is history.

We met up at his chosen destination: the Oaks Park Roller Skating Rink. He had me laughing and crying throughout the interview, so please forgive any camera shakiness. I’m filming this series with my Canon R6, hand held - no gimbal or tripod here, folks.

“If I can help people get out of that - what they feel like they need to be - and let them be who they want to be, then I feel like I’m accomplishing something.”

What’s loveliest about Rob’s quote is that he is able to do that just by being himself. To be honest, everything Rob said resonated with me. Moving through the world with the intention of bringing joy to others is something I try to do (hence the series hehe).

You can (and should!) watch my interview with Rob on Instagram!

whether it’s dancing, skating, giving us a comedy skit, or simply sharing great resources. Give him a follow on Instagram at @rob_thee_2nd to support and stay up to date with this PNW icon!

He’s always up to something,
